Why it matters for AI visibility
If your business lives in a YMYL category, financial services, legal advice, healthcare, insurance, safety-critical trades, the bar for appearing in answers is materially higher everywhere, not just on Google. AI engines are conspicuously cautious on these topics: they hedge, they prefer established institutional sources, and they recommend named businesses more sparingly than they do for restaurants or software. That cuts both ways. The headwind: thin content and unevidenced claims that might scrape by in a lifestyle niche will simply never be cited in yours. The opportunity: the cautious sourcing means engines cling to a small set of trustworthy names once found, so a YMYL business that genuinely invests in credentialed authorship, accurate claims and strong third-party corroboration is competing for answer space most rivals cannot enter. Regulated firms often already hold the evidence, qualifications, memberships, oversight, and simply have not published it in a form engines can read.
