How much does answer engine optimisation cost?

Answer engine optimisation (AEO) in the UK typically costs £50 to £250 a month for monitoring software, and £1,500 a month or more for an agency retainer with human help. Is GEO the same as SEO, and do I pay for both?

They overlap but they are not the same: SEO earns rankings and clicks, GEO (also called AEO) earns mentions and citations inside AI answers. Most mid-market B2B teams keep their existing SEO budget and add a separate, smaller AI visibility line: £99 a month for monitoring, £1,495 a month with implementation included. Pricing questions, answered plainly

What does “we review and make the changes on your site” mean?
On the Strategist tier, the fixes the scan finds are made by us rather than handed to you: answer blocks on existing pages, new pages from approved drafts, llms.txt, crawler rules, and the traditional SEO checks and fixes that hold answers back. If your site deploys from GitHub, they arrive as pull requests your developer reviews and merges, one fix per PR, never a direct commit. Otherwise we use the access you give us to your CMS and tell you exactly what changed.
My site deploys from GitHub. What do I get?
Fixes as pull requests into your build, continuously, with the evidence in the description: the question, what the engines said, who was cited instead, and what we will re-check after merge. One fix per pull request, never a direct commit.
How do you post on our channels?
With the access you choose to grant. Add us to your LinkedIn page or YouTube channel (or share scheduling access) and we schedule and publish there, every post signed off by you first. Channels you keep to yourself get paste-ready drafts instead. Roundup and listing outreach is emailed from our own address on your behalf: we never send from your inbox.
How many Strategist clients do you take?
A small number at a time, so the day is a real day. The software does the scanning, drafting and measuring; the strategist does the judgement and the changes.
Is the audit credited?
Yes. The £395 comes off your first month of Monitor or Strategist if you start within 60 days.
What is a re-scan?
Scans run weekly on Monitor and daily on Strategist. A re-scan asks the engines one question, or all of them, right now, usually after you have shipped a change. Monitor includes two a month, Strategist four. Every shipped fix is also re-checked automatically at 7 and 28 days; that does not use your allowance.
Do you still have a £49 Starter plan?
No. The £49 Starter plan, where you brought your own API keys, was retired in August 2026. AEOscore now has two tiers, both with API keys included: Monitor at £99 a month, and Monitor + Strategist at £1,495 a month where we review and make the changes for you. The one-off £395 AI Visibility Audit is the usual starting point.
Do you guarantee AI mentions?
No, and nobody honest does. AEOscore promises measurement and expert effort, never guaranteed mentions. What you do get: the real answers, a score you can track, and a named person accountable for moving it.
How do billing, VAT and cancelling work?
By card via a payment link for the audit and Monitor; Monitor's link arrives with your login. Monitor + Strategist is invoiced monthly, with nothing to pay until you have spoken to us. Prices exclude VAT; VAT is added where applicable at the prevailing UK rate. Both tiers are monthly, cancel anytime, with no minimum term and no cancellation fees. Plan for about a quarter on Strategist, because AI answers take roughly that long to move; we say so up front rather than lock you in. Your data is yours and exports on request.
