Knowledge Graph

What is Knowledge Graph?

The Knowledge Graph is Google's database of entities, people, places, organisations, and the facts and relationships connecting them, assembled from the web and licensed data sources. It powers the knowledge panels beside search results, and represents Google's settled understanding of who your business is, as distinct from what pages say.

Why it matters for AI visibility

Getting into the Knowledge Graph means graduating, in Google's eyes, from a website to a thing that exists: an entity with facts attached rather than pages that rank. That standing pays off across surfaces, because a resolved entity is harder to confuse with namesakes, more likely to be presented with confident, correct details, and better anchored when AI systems assemble answers involving you. You cannot apply to join; the graph is built from evidence, so the work is making your existence unambiguous: consistent facts everywhere you are mentioned, Organization schema declaring your identity, corroborating profiles, and ideally coverage in the independent sources Google leans on. For AEO the deeper point is that every engine is building some version of this: an internal map of which businesses exist and what is reliably true of them. The evidence trail that convinces Google's graph is the same trail that convinces the rest.
