Why it matters for AI visibility
A mention that damns faintly is not a win. Engines synthesise judgement from reviews, forums and press, and they repeat the consensus they find: solid but expensive, mixed customer service, good for small projects. Those framings, delivered in an assistant's neutral voice, carry unusual persuasive weight, because users experience them as a summary of everyone rather than one reviewer's view. Sentiment tracking reads what surrounds your name across engines and over time, which surfaces problems and assets that counts cannot: a caveat that appears in every ChatGPT answer traces back to a specific cluster of reviews you can address; an adjective the engines consistently award you is a differentiator worth doubling down on in your copy. It also catches drift early, when one engine's framing sours after ingesting fresh negative coverage, while the correction, honest fixes plus better source material, is still cheap.
