Monitoring is the easy half: why AEOscore fixes what it finds

Every AI visibility tool will show you a chart proving that ChatGPT recommends your rivals. Almost none of them will write the page that fixes it. That gap, between knowing and doing, is the whole reason AEOscore exists: AI that scans, scores and writes the fix plans, paired with a UK-based named expert with 20+ years in search who makes sure they happen. We built that hybrid for the marketing team of eight, not the analytics department of eighty.
A disclosure first, because it is the point of the piece: AEOscore is our product, and this is our argument for building it the way we did. The evidence, with every rival’s price checked on their own pages and dated, lives on two pages that stay fair to everyone: Profound vs UK alternatives for mid-market marketing teams and Profound vs AEOscore. This post is the opinion those pages leave out.
The category has copied SEO’s oldest mistake
For twenty years the SEO industry sold ranking reports. The report told you that you were seventh for “accountants Cheltenham” and your rival was second, and then it left the building. Someone in marketing was meant to turn that into pages, links and fixes. Mostly they did not, because they had a campaign that was already late, and the next report looked the same as the last one.
AI visibility monitoring has grown up in the same shape, only faster and with more venture money. Profound, the best-funded platform in the category, will track up to nine engines for an enterprise team, with agent-traffic analytics and SOC 2 for procurement, and it is a serious piece of software. Its public tiers are $99 a month for ChatGPT only, billed yearly, and $399 a month for three engines, billed yearly. Its AI agents will draft content for you. Publishing it, winning the listings, and finding out whether any of it moved the answer: still your job. Peec, Otterly, Semrush, Ahrefs Brand Radar: strong monitors, some with useful recommendations, all stopping at the same line. You get the dashboard; the fixing is yours.
That is a perfectly good trade if you are a Fortune 500 marketing function with someone whose whole role is to read the dashboard. Most UK businesses are not that. They are a marketing manager and a few colleagues, a budget where £1,000 a month has to show its work, and no spare Thursday.
So we built it the other way round
AEOscore starts where the others start: a scan of real buyer questions, weekly on Monitor and daily on the Strategist tier, across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, scored, with every answer kept so you can read what the engines actually said. Then it does the thing the dashboards do not. Every gap it finds becomes a written fix plan: this page, answering this question, naming these rivals, at this price, with a draft on request. It lists the directories, roundups and Reddit threads the engines cite instead of you, flags new rivals the engines keep naming, and re-measures on the same prompts so a fix carries a before-and-after verdict rather than a hope.
And on the top tier, someone does the work. One day a month with a named UK expert who writes the copy and the pages, hones the prompt panel, and builds the campaign to win more mentions. That is the product. The dashboard is just how you watch it working.
The hybrid model: AI plus 20+ years of UK judgement
Neither half works on its own, and that is the design. The software does what software should: it puts real buyer questions to six AI engines, every week or every day depending on your tier, reads every answer, counts the mentions and citations, weights them into a score, and uses the latest AI models to draft a fix plan for every gap it finds, faster and more consistently than any human could. That is the automated half, and it is what you get on every tier from £99 a month.
The other half is the bit AI is still bad at: knowing which of those gaps matters for your business, what to write so a buyer believes it, which directory is worth the outreach and which is a waste of a Thursday, and whether the movement in week six is real or noise. That is judgement, and it comes from a UK-based named expert with 20+ years of getting British businesses found, who runs your free scan and builds your prompt panel on every tier, and on the Strategist tier reads the scans, hones the panel and does the work. Pure-software tools give you the first half and leave you to supply the second. Agencies sell you the second half wrapped around somebody else’s tool. We do both, and we wrote the software.
The bit the other tools cannot copy: we build websites
The difference that matters most for a small marketing team is not a feature at all. Behind AEOscore is an in-house team of full-stack designers and developers that has been building websites for UK businesses since 2011 (Goreblimey Ltd, if you want to look us up). I wrote the AEOscore software myself, and I have spent 20+ years getting businesses found. So when the scan says “you have no comparison page and your robots.txt is blocking ClaudeBot,” the people reading that with you can actually open the site and change it.
That sounds small until you have tried to get a comparison page, a pricing page and an unblocked robots.txt through a marketing team that has no developer, or a developer who has other priorities. The AI engines do not care that the fix is on a backlog. They read the site as it is this week. On the Strategist tier the fixes go live inside the monthly day, on your site, with whatever access you choose to grant, and if a fix is bigger than a day’s work, we take that on too, quoted separately at our normal development rates: it is what our in-house team does for a living. On the Monitor tier you get the same fix plans and drafts, specified tightly enough that whoever you do have can ship them.
Who this is for
Small and mid-sized marketing teams: two to fifteen people, an AI visibility budget somewhere between £50 and £1,500 a month, twenty to forty buyer questions worth tracking, and nobody whose job title contains “AEO”. If that is you, we think AEOscore is the better buy than the enterprise platforms on almost every axis that matters to you: six engines flat in pounds from £99 a month, no annual contract, a free expert-run scan before you commit, and a fix plan for every gap on every tier. There is a page written for exactly that team: AI visibility for mid-market marketing teams.
If you are enterprise with an analyst and a procurement team, buy Profound; we say so on the comparison pages and we mean it. And if you want crawler analytics or SOC 2 paperwork, we do not have them yet, and we say that too.
We ran it on ourselves first
This is the nearest thing we have to a case study so far. In August 2026 we ran AEOscore on aeoscore.co.uk. It flagged that for the question a marketing manager actually asks when shortlisting tools, we had no page an engine could cite, and it wrote a plan: a named-vendor comparison, a head-to-head, a fit page, a feeder edit to a glossary entry. Those pages went live this week. The scans keep running weekly, and next month we will publish which domains the engines cite for that question, whether or not one of them is us.

Send us your domain and I will run it through all six engines with real buyer questions for your sector, score it, and email you the report within one to two working days. No card, no signup, no sales call unless you want one. It tells you whether you have a gap, which rivals are being named instead of you, and whether you need monitoring, fixing, or both.
