What are the best AEO tools in 2026 for a three-person in-house SaaS marketing team?

For a three-person SaaS team: AEOscore, the publisher of this list, for all six engines, Claude included, with the gaps fixed as well as found; Otterly.AI or Peec AI for tracking on a small budget; the AI add-on to Semrush, Ahrefs or HubSpot if you already pay for one; and Frase or Surfer for tracking inside a writing tool.

Cards on the table

AEOscore publishes this list and includes itself, first. The criteria are below, so you can judge whether that is fair.

Every fact about another tool comes from that vendor’s own pages, with a link and the date we checked. We did not buy or run the other tools, so this compares what each vendor publishes, not results. Several tools below cost less than ours, and we say where each one beats us.

54% of UK adults now use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini, rising to 79% of 16 to 24 year olds.

Ofcom, UK adults' media and online lives revealed, 2 April 2026

US Google users clicked a traditional result on 8% of visits when an AI summary appeared, against 15% when it did not; only 1% clicked a source inside the summary (900 adults, 68,879 searches, March 2025).

Pew Research Center, 22 July 2025

Organic click-through rate on informational queries in 2025 was 2.07% when the brand was cited inside the AI Overview and 0.94% when it was not (53 brands, 5.47M queries).

Quick picks

Which AEO tool should a three-person SaaS team pick?

Pick by the one constraint that matters most to your team: hours to act on the findings, budget, the suite you already pay for, or how much content you write.

  • Nobody on the team has hours to make the changes

AEOscore Monitor + Strategist (ours): a named UK expert makes them, £1,495 a month.

  • Lowest monthly cost for daily tracking

Otterly.AI at $29 a month for 15 prompts, or Geoptie at $49 for 15 prompts on any four engines you pick.

  • You already pay for Semrush, Ahrefs or HubSpot

Its AI add-on first: Semrush $99 a month per domain, Ahrefs from $50 for your own prompts, HubSpot AEO $50.

  • You write a lot of content in-house

Frase from $39 a month billed yearly, or Surfer's AI Search Analytics from $82, with tracking beside the editor.

  • Claude and Perplexity included from the first plan

AEOscore Monitor (ours) at £99 a month for all six engines, or AthenaHQ at $295 a month for 11 models on credits.

  • Daily charts for 50 questions on three engines

Peec AI at €85 a month.

Which of these AEO tools track Claude?

AEOscore tracks Claude on every plan from £99 a month; of the other 16 tools here, only AthenaHQ includes it on its first paid plan ($295 a month), Geoptie lets you pick it as one of four engines, and the other 14 limit it to a higher tier, an add-on, metering or enterprise, or do not list it.

Claude is a separate assistant with its own model and its own way of searching the web, so it can name different companies from ChatGPT or Google, and a tracker that leaves it out cannot show you those answers.

Counted from AEOscore's own scans: 118 answers in 23 scans from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Claude (Claude for part of the window only). A company counts once per answer if the answer names it at all, so Semrush, Ahrefs and HubSpot may be named for their wider products. The table lists other vendors only, at 1 answer in 10 or more.

Method

How we picked

A tool is on this list if the AI engines named it in at least 1 in 10 of our 118 answers to this question, or at least four of the tool roundups the engines cited in our scans list it, and it publishes enough about itself to compare; ours is added as the publisher.

  1. 1

    Price per tracked question

What the entry plan costs for the questions it tracks, because a team of three needs about 25 to 40 real buyer questions to see a pattern.

  2. 2

    Engines at the entry price

Which of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode the cheapest plan covers, and which cost extra; Claude is the one most often left out.

  3. 3

    Who makes the changes

Whether the tool only reports, suggests actions, or includes a person who makes the changes on your site.

  4. 4

    Monthly billing and a trial

Whether a small team can pay monthly and try it first, so it can test a tool for a quarter without a long contract.

  5. 5

    UK billing

The currency and VAT a UK buyer sees, and whether the vendor shows a pound price.

The hours problem

For a team of three, why is the real limit hours rather than the licence?

For a team of three the real limit is hours, because acting on what a tracker finds takes 5 to 15 hours a month on our estimate, and few teams that size have that spare.

Those hours go on the five jobs that move AI answers: letting AI crawlers in, writing pages that answer the buyer's question, getting onto the lists the engines cite, making your facts match everywhere, and turning up in reviews and threads. A three-person SaaS marketing team is often also running paid, email, events and the website, so the fix list waits, and a gap the tool found in one quarter can still be open in the next.

What does each route cost over six months, hours included?

On our estimate, over six months a tracker plus your team's hours comes to about £1,636 to £4,036, AEOscore Monitor plus your hours about £1,314 to £2,514, and Monitor + Strategist about £9,450 to £9,930, which buys a strategist and developer day each month instead of your team's time.

RouteSix months of licenceYour team’s hoursAt £40 an hourSix-month total
Tracker onlyPeec AI Starter, three engines€510 (about £436)30 to 90 hours£1,200 to £3,600£1,636 to £4,036

Managed: monitor and fixAEOscore Monitor + Strategist£8,97012 to 24 hours£480 to £960£9,450 to £9,930

Licence prices are the vendors' own, checked 2 November 2026; hours are AEOscore's estimate, the same figures as our Peec AI comparison; £40 an hour is an illustrative cost for a marketer's time, so put in your own rate. AEOscore prices exclude VAT.

“For a team of three the licence is the cheap part. The expensive part is the hours nobody has to act on what it finds.”

Fit

Where does AEOscore fit for a team of three, and where does it not?

AEOscore fits a team of three that wants the changes made, or a written plan for every gap at £99 a month, and it does not fit a team that only wants the cheapest tracker or crawler-traffic analytics.

  • No spare hours and you want the gaps closed: AEOscore Monitor + Strategist, £1,495 a month: a named expert makes the changes.
  • Someone on the team can give 3 to 8 hours a month to fixes: AEOscore Monitor, £99 a month: six engines and a written fix plan for every gap.
  • You only want the cheapest daily tracking: Otterly.AI from $29 a month, or Geoptie from $49; you make the changes.
  • You already pay for Semrush, Ahrefs or HubSpot: start with its AI add-on, and add a dedicated tool only when you need more engines or someone to act.
  • You need crawler-traffic analytics or enterprise reporting: Profound or Conductor; AEOscore does not offer crawler analytics.

AEOscore’s prices in one line: £395 one-off AI Visibility Audit, credited against your first month, £99 a month Monitor, £1,495 a month Monitor + Strategist. Prices in pounds, excluding VAT, monthly, cancel anytime. What the top tier includes: Monitor + Strategist; the same trade for SEO teams: AEO for a 1 to 3 person in-house SEO team.

“Buy a tracker if someone on your team can write the pages and fix the access. If nobody can, the list of gaps just gets longer.”

UK buying notes

What should a UK team check before buying an AEO tool?

Check the currency and VAT on the invoice, where your data is held, the support hours and whether you can pay monthly, because most of these tools are priced in US dollars or euros.

FAQ

AEO tools for small teams, asked directly

How much should a three-person team expect to pay for AEO tooling?
Dedicated trackers start at about £21 to £75 a month for 15 to 75 questions, wider tools such as Scrunch and AthenaHQ cost about £185 to £220, enterprise platforms such as Profound and Conductor publish no price, and AEOscore is £99 a month with fix plans or £1,495 a month with the changes made.
Which AEO tool is best if nobody on the team is technical?
If nobody on the team can edit pages or change site settings, choose a provider that includes the implementation, because a dashboard of gaps you cannot act on changes no AI answers.
How many questions should a small SaaS team track?
Start with 25 to 40 real buyer questions covering your category, “best X for Y” questions, comparisons with named rivals and pricing, which is enough to see a pattern without paying for noise.
Do I need a separate AEO tool if I already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs?
Start with the AI add-on in the suite you already pay for, and add a dedicated tool only when you need more engines, more questions or someone to act on the findings.
How often should AI visibility be scanned?
Weekly is enough for most small teams, because AI answers move when content and citations change rather than by the hour, and daily scans earn their cost when you ship fixes every week and want to see the day an answer moves.
How long before an AEO tool shows improvement?
A tool on its own improves nothing: most businesses see the first movement in AI answers 4 to 12 weeks after the fixes go live, with live-search engines such as ChatGPT search and Perplexity moving first.
Is AEOscore a fair pick in this list?
AEOscore publishes this page, so read our entry with that in mind: we include it because tracking plus the work is a different kind of product, and we list the tools that cost less than ours with the same facts as everyone else.

Method

Method and review schedule

Checked 2 November 2026; this page is checked monthly, and the next check is due December 2026.

We read every vendor’s own pricing and product pages on that date and recorded what they showed, in the currency shown, with a rough pound conversion. Where a vendor publishes no price we say so. We did not buy or run the other tools, so this compares what each vendor says it does. The order is ours first, as disclosed, then by type of tool, alphabetical within each type: there is no ranking.

The engine counts come from AEOscore’s own scans of the question “Best AEO tools in 2025 for an in-house SaaS marketing team of three people”, which we track word for word. How AEOscore measures how often a business is named: methodology. A wider price table in pounds: AI visibility tools, UK pricing comparison. Every head-to-head we publish: compare.

AEOscore is a trading name of Goreblimey Ltd, Cheltenham, company no. 07582417.
