AI visibility tools: UK pricing comparison in £ (2026)

AI visibility tools cost from about £15 a month on paper (Rankscale, credit-metered; about £73 is its realistic floor) to £3,700+ a month (enterprise platforms) once you include every AI engine. Most published comparisons quote dollars; this one converts to pounds and flags the add-ons that inflate the sticker price. It was last verified on 30 July 2026 and is re-checked quarterly.

Second, a warning about the whole genre: most reviews of AI visibility tools are written by competing vendors (this one included), so treat every precise number, ours too, as a snapshot with a date on it. The six tricks that inflate a sticker price (ours included)
- Per-engine add-ons.Otterly’s $29 headline becomes $250 to $700 a month once Claude ($29 to $439/month) and Gemini/AI Mode add-ons stack. Peec caps self-serve plans at 3 engines and charges €30 to €140 a month per extra.
- Credit metering. Rankscale and AthenaHQ charge per AI response. Predictable for tiny panels, unpredictable the moment you track competitors properly.
- Per-domain fees. Semrush charges $99 a month per domain, plus $60 per extra 50 prompts. Two brands, two bills.
- Per-engine pricing. Ahrefs Brand Radar is now sold standalone (re-checked 17 August 2026): $199 a month per AI index, or $699 a month for all of them, and Claude only through metered custom prompts.
- Annual lock-in.Profound bills its public tiers yearly, and Semrush labels its $99 as billed annually (its knowledge base says cancel anytime). The category norm is “monthly” pricing you pay for a year of.
- Bring-your-own-keys and fair-use caps. We ran this model ourselves until August 2026: a £49 Starter tier where you plugged in your own API keys and the providers billed you £13 to £16 a month on top, a real floor of about £62 to £65. We retired it; every AEOscore tier now bundles the API costs under a fair-use cap (weekly scans across 40 prompts on Monitor, daily scans on Monitor + Strategist). Judged by the same rules as everyone else, that cap belongs in the table, so it is.
What do UK options cost?
The UK-specific market is thin, which is why every comparison you find is in dollars. Verified UK anchors: TendorAI at £299/month, AwarenessAI at £895/month +VAT, GeekyIQ at £1,499 to £2,499/month for prompt tracking with strategist hours, and boutique AEO retainers flooring at about £1,500/month. Agencies commonly resell a $29 to $189 tool seat inside a £500 to £1,500/month monitoring line item, a documented 5 to 15x markup.
Which should you pick?
- Testing the water on a tiny budget: HubSpot AEO at $50/month or Otterly Lite at $29/month, accepting narrow engine coverage.
- Broadest engines per pound, self-serve: Rankscale or Trakkr, if credit metering (Rankscale) does not put you off.

Why is nothing priced in pounds?
Because the category grew up in US venture funding: over $300 million went into AI visibility tools between mid-2025 and spring 2026, almost all of it American. UK buyers pay card conversion fees on dollar prices and get US-hours support. Pricing in pounds, with UK support hours, is a small thing that tells you who a product was built for.
