AEOscoreFree audit

Free AI visibility audit: a six-page report with your AEO score, on whether AI engines name you and who they name instead (UK)

Previously called the free AEO score.

What is AEOscore's free AI visibility audit?

A free six-page report with your AEO score out of 100, on whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode name your business when buyers ask. We write 25 buyer questions from your website and sector, ask each once on all six engines (150 answers, every one read), and give you your AEO score, the rivals named instead of you and the three fixes to make first. No card, no account: you give a domain and an email address. It is run in the UK from Cheltenham by Goreblimey Ltd, read and checked by Olly before it is sent, and emailed within 1 to 2 working days. It is not the single-page checker at aeoscore.io or the automated AEO Auditor at aeoscore.app, which are different businesses.

The report

What you get

A six-page report on 25 real buyer questions across six AI engines, Claude included.

  • A six-page PDF, emailed within 1 to 2 working days, no card
  • 25 buyer questions written from your website and sector: a few that use your name, provider questions where a buyer asks who to use, and advice questions
  • Each question asked once on six AI engines, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode: 150 answers, every one read
  • Your AEO score out of 100, plus five sub-scores: visibility, reputation, prominence, share of voice and citation
  • An engine-by-engine table on the provider questions: you against the rivals named most
  • The shortlist the engines name instead of you, why they pick them, and the sites they cite most
  • Six of the 25 questions in detail, each tagged Win, Split or Losing: which engines named you, who they named instead, and a quote from an answer
  • The three fixes to make first, each tied to a question you are losing and checked by hand against your site
  • The rival you name on the form, plus the ones the engines name instead
  • Read and checked by Olly before it is sent

What it does not include: all 25 questions in detail, or a full fix list. That is paid work. Monitor, at £99 a month, software-only, re-runs the 25 questions every week and writes a fix plan for every gap; Monitor + Strategist, at £1,495 a month, also makes the changes for you. Both cover all six engines, Claude included. See the prices.

Your report covers
  • ChatGPT
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • Perplexity
  • Google AI Overviews
  • Google AI Mode

Checked by a human

The 1 to 2 working days is deliberate: an instant automated score can only tell you what a robot noticed. Olly reads the answers and checks each fix against your site by hand before the report is sent, and nobody follows it with an automated drip sequence. One report, from one person.

The honest bit

What the free audit cannot tell you

A free audit shows whether you have a problem. It cannot show exactly how big the problem is, because AI answers change from one run to the next.

  • It is one sample at one moment. AI answers are generated fresh each time, so the same question can return a different shortlist an hour later.
  • It does not show a trend line. One snapshot cannot tell you whether your visibility is rising or falling; only repeated scans of the same prompts can.
  • It does not tell you what real users saw. We ask the engines through their APIs and search surfaces, which can differ from what a logged-in consumer gets in an app.
  • It samples 25 buyer questions, not every question your buyers ask, and shows six of them in detail. Paid tiers start from the same 25 questions and can grow to 40, re-run on a schedule.

We measured the wobble

We re-ran the same 41 UK buyer prompts on our own site through 5 AI engines on three consecutive days (18 to 20 August 2026). The brands named changed in 81% of prompt-and-engine combinations, and in 7% whether we were mentioned at all flipped between days. Across the three UK sites we monitor (482 combinations, all six engines), the figures were 83% and 14%.

Method: we took every prompt-and-engine combination with a scored answer on each of three separate days, compared the brands each answer named, and counted a combination as changed if any day's list differed. Measured from the AEOscore scan database on 20 August 2026.

“Ask an engine the same buyer question on Monday and again on Wednesday and you will often get a different shortlist. The variance comes from the engines themselves: generated answers genuinely differ run to run. A free check tells you whether you have a problem, not the exact size of it.”

How it compares to other free checkers

We compared the free AI visibility checkers a UK business would realistically reach for, every fact checked on the vendors’ own pages on 20 August 2026, and published the full results, prices and verdicts, including where our own audit is weaker: the best free AI visibility checkers for UK businesses. After the free audit

What it costs if you want ongoing tracking

Free AI visibility audit, then £99 a month Monitor (software-only) or £1,495 a month Monitor + Strategist; every plan covers all six engines, Claude included.

The free audit is a snapshot. If you want the same buyer prompts re-run on a schedule so you can see movement, Monitor scans weekly; Monitor + Strategist scans daily and comes with a named in-house strategist and developer day each month, spent making the fixes on your site and your channels. On Monitor + Strategist, month one starts with all 25 questions scanned, the full fix list and the first fixes made, with no separate audit to buy. Prices in pounds, excluding VAT, monthly, cancel anytime. Full details on the pricing page. Not sure you need a tracker yet? The cheapest ways to keep checking this month, with prices in pounds and a 30-day plan, are in what an answer engine is and what it costs to check one.

Free audit questions, answered in one sentence

Is there a free tool to check if ChatGPT and Perplexity mention my brand?

Yes: AEOscore's free AI visibility audit asks 25 buyer questions on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, with no card and no account, and emails a human-checked six-page report with your AEO score out of 100 within 1 to 2 working days.

Are free AI visibility checkers accurate?

They are directionally useful but not repeatable: when we re-ran the same buyer prompts through the same engines on three separate days, the brands named changed in 83% of prompt-and-engine combinations, which is why a free check tells you whether you have a problem, not how big it is.

What is the difference between a free check and paid AI visibility monitoring?

A free check is one snapshot; paid monitoring re-runs the same buyer prompts on a schedule so you can see movement, and AEOscore's Monitor tier does this weekly at £99 a month, daily on the £1,495 Monitor + Strategist tier.

Do I need to give a card or sign up to use AEOscore's free audit?

No: you give a domain and an email address, and one person emails one report back, with no card, no account and no automated drip sequence.

What does an AI visibility score out of 100 mean?

It is one number built from how often engines name you across a set of buyer prompts, usually combined with how prominently, how favourably and how often they cite your site, using weights the vendor chooses. That makes it comparable to your own past scores in the same tool, not to another tool's number or an industry benchmark, which is why it is worth asking any vendor for its formula.

Can a free tool tell me how to fix the gaps?

Most cannot: they report absence without a remedy, whereas AEOscore's free audit names the three fixes to make first, each tied to a question you are losing and checked by hand against your site. Monitor (software-only) then writes a fix plan for every gap, and on Monitor + Strategist in-house technical people make the fixes rather than emailing you a to-do list.

What happened to the £395 audit?

We no longer sell a separate paid audit: it was retired on 3 November 2026. Start with the free AI visibility audit; for the full fix list and weekly re-checks, Monitor is £99 a month, software-only, with no minimum term.

What changed on this page

  • : Renamed the free AI visibility report the free AI visibility audit: a six-page report with your AEO score out of 100 (it was first called the free AEO score). The report, the 25 questions and the form fields are unchanged. The separate paid AI Visibility Audit was retired, so it is no longer listed here, and /audit now redirects to this page. Added an answer on what happened to it, and the opening answer now says this is not the AEO Auditor at aeoscore.app.
  • : Renamed the free score the free AI visibility report and described it as it is: six pages, 25 buyer questions asked on all six engines (150 answers), an AEO score with five sub-scores, the rivals named instead of you, six questions in detail and the three fixes to make first. It was previously described as a score with one fix. The form is unchanged.
  • : The opening answer now says this free check is not the single-page checker at aeoscore.io, which is a different business. AI assistants had been mixing the two up.
  • : Rebuilt from a short form page into a full answer page. Added the run-to-run variance study, the free checker comparison table with dated prices, direct answers, sources and this changelog. The form is unchanged.
